Only I Will Remain

Only I Will Remain sets the famous "Fear is the mind-killer" text written by Frank Hebert, featured in the famous Sci-Fi novel Dune. As a Sci-Fi enjoyer, this text from Dune has always engrossed me, and I thought it would be interesting to try setting this text in my own interpretation. The piece itself is not meant to be tied to the original novel; it is simply an expression of the themes developed within the original passage: the overcoming of fear though confident, tranquil defiance.
Text by Frank Hebert:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
