She, whose flightless wings carry

This audio does not feature lyrics.

A few years ago, I read Worm, a large web serial by John C. "Wildbow" McCrae. The novel has been one of the most impactful pieces of literature I’ve ever picked up, with an incredible plot and compelling characters. One of my favorite villainous characters from the novel was The Simurgh, a large, humanoid woman covered in feathered wings. The inhuman creature relied on clairvoyance and precognition to stir up elaborate schemes that snowballed throughout the course of the novel. She, whose flightless wings carry, was inspired by The Simurgh’s elaborate and daunting character, along with her twisted angelic physique.

Original Text:

"Velata alis nunquam tamen volaverunt; clamoris annuli."

Shrouded in wings, yet has never flown; her scream rings.
